SOLDIER HOLLOW CLASSIC SHEEPDOG TRIAL - HEBER VALLEY, UTAH

Labor Day Weekend, 2007

We traveled to Utah to collect samples from the best working Border Collies in the world.

 

USBCHA NATIONAL SHEEPDOG FINALS - GETTYSBURG, PA

September 18-26, 2007

We attended the national finals in Gettysburg and collected almost 150 samples from the best working Border Collies in the United States and Canada.

 

PORTUGUESE WATER DOG NATIONAL SPECIALTY-VENTURA, CA

October 2 & 3, 2007

As guests of the Portuguese Water Dog Club of America, we collected about 65 samples from a myriad of PWDs attending the national specialty. In the coming months we hope to collect an equivalent number via mail to bring our sample set to over 120.

Melanie helped the vet tech hold dogs while she collected blood samples in the health tent.

As guests of the Bearded Collie Club of America, we collected 30 samples during our attendance at their specialty in Sonoma County, and have continued to collect samples through the mail from many Beardie enthusiasts from around the country and beyond.

USBCHA NATIONAL SHEEPDOG FINALS - KLAMATH FALLS, OR

September 23-26, 2009

We collected over 100 blood samples over several days of sampling at the Finals in Oregon. Dr. Mark Neff and PhD Candidate Jennifer Yokoyama also gave a research update presentation prior to the annual ABCA meeting.
